University of Manchester student wins Wiener Library Translation Competition

On May 23rd, Stuart Dunlop, a final year German student at the University of Manchester, was declared a winner in the Oxford German Network Olympiad 2017, in the Wiener Library Translation Competition. His translation of a 1940
Martin Miller cabaret monologue into English was chosen out of students nationwide, and he will receive the award of £100 on the 20th June, at the Bodleian Library, Oxford University. Stuart first received word of this competi
tion through the University of Manchester’s German Department in March 2017, and enjoyed representing Manchester to receive this award.
