The German Historical Institute, London, in association with the German History Society, is planning to hold a free one-day event, from c. 10am – 3pm, for A-level history teachers, on an as yet to be decided day in late June or early July 2019. This will take place at the German Historical Institute, 17 Bloomsbury Square, in Central London. Lunch will be provided. The programme will include talks by academics on various themes in German history and a tour around the institute’s library. We would also like to hear your views about other ways in which the German Historical Institute and the German History Society might be able to support teachers and their students. We would like to hear from A-level history teachers who might be interested in attending such an event. In particular, would it be better to hold it in late June or in early July? Would a week day or a Saturday be more appropriate? We are also interested in hearing what kind of topics and periods in German history would most appeal to you as A-level teachers.
Please send your responses by Friday 29 March 2019 to Christiane Swinbank (swinbank(ghi)ghil.ac.uk).
